Let’s be real.

When you hear “life coaching", what comes to mind?

Probably some guy in his 20s/30s, sitting in a coffee shop with his laptop, handing out advice about “living your best life.”
A self-declared “coach” who’s never built anything real, never been tested in fire, and isn’t even sure who he is—let alone who God is.

And now he’s going to tell you how to live?

That’s a joke.
And honestly, most of the time, you’re right to roll your eyes.

Because in today's culture:

  •  Anyone with an Instagram account thinks they’re qualified to be a life coach.
  • “Coaching” has become a shallow excuse for people to sell their opinions to others.
  • Our society is soft—and full of people trying to “help others” when they haven’t done the hard work of knowing who they are or Whose they are.

Here's the ugly truth:

  • Most “life coaches” don’t have life figured out.
  • They don’t have wisdom.
  • And they sure don’t have Jesus.

That’s not coaching.
That’s noise.

They’ve Got Coaching All Wrong

Here’s what most people think coaching is:
  • Giving advice
  • Sharing expertise
  • Telling someone what they “should” do with their life

But that’s not coaching at all.
That’s consulting, mentoring, or training...and while those have their place, they’re not what changes lives.

Real coaching isn’t about the coach’s voice.
It’s about helping you tune into the only Voice that matters—God’s voice.

What About Christian Coaching?

“Ok, but what about Christian coaching? That’s better, right?”
Yes… and no.

Here’s the problem:

  • Most “Christian coaching” is just secular life coaching repackaged as "Christ-Centered" life coaching.

It’s still:

  • Focused on you finding your purpose.
  • Centered on your goals and desires.
  • Wrapped in “feel-good spirituality” but often shallow and self-focused.

That’s not the Kingdom.
That’s still noise.
